It is the mission and intent of this position that the incumbent will establish and actively improve all aspects of the Group Engineering function to be based in Hong Kong or London corporate office, including the following duties and responsibilities:
Engineering Operation and Pre-Opening
Establish MOHG’s Engineering Standards and Guidelines to maintain consistent standards of quality and reliability.
Establish a structured review process of the properties and the engineering operation to ensure compliance with relevant MOHG guidelines, policies, and procedures.
Establish Engineering Pre-Opening procedures and processes to ensure well-coordinated openings of all properties in accordance with MOHG’s Product Standards and Guidelines.
Develop the Area DOE function based in strategic locations to continuously improve the Group Engineering function.
Asset Management
Establish a structured processes to manage all engineering related assets, including a robust preventive maintenance programme to manage, monitor, maintain and where required, improve, guest services delivery, defect management and maintenance costs.
Support the development of annual and 5-year CAPEX plan.
Review and approve hotel CAPEX projects as defined in the Group Finance policies.
Fire, Life, Health, Safety & Security
Actively support MOHG Group Risk Management with the management and continuous improvement of the FLHSS Programme.
Sustainability
Actively support MOHG Group Sustainability department with the management and continuous improvements of the sustainability programme, especially as it pertains to establishing, monitoring, and achieving the Group’s Environmental targets.
Manage and monitor the environmental performance of the properties, including regular updates and compiling data for the Group’s Sustainability Reports.
Support properties in achieving their environmental targets, through energy and environmental audits, implementation of initiatives and procurement of renewable energy.
Finance
Support the development of the annual POMEC budgets.
Support the Group efforts to maximise the financial operating performance of the properties (improved GOP) while ensuring all facilities are in perfect [operating] conditions.
People
Assist the properties in the recruitment of Directors of Engineering.
Ensure that the properties engineering management teams are developed and retained with the objective to provide internal promotions for new openings and other career opportunities.
Information Technology
Support innovation and the deployment of technology to improve the sophistication of the engineering departments and the Group Engineering function.
Continuously seek to develop digital tools such as Actabl and Transcendent to improve the operating processes and asset management.
Actively support the consistent implementation of the environmental management systems (such as the Greenview Portal) and ensure continuous progress towards the group environmental performance goals.
Miscellaneous
Actively support other corporate functions in improving engineering related guidelines and operational practices that support the group mission.
