Mandarin Oriental New York is looking for a Group Sales Manager to join our sales Department.

About the job

Based at the Mandarin Oriental New York within the sales Office in New York City, the Group Sales Manager is responsible for ensuring the hotel achieves annual revenue goals for their sales territory while managing expenses to budget.  The Group Sales Manager will oversee overall day to day operation, planning, and long-term outlook of this segment. The Group Sales Manager reports to the Director of Sales.

As Group Sales Manager, you will be responsible for the following duties:

  • Support company’s philosophy and company culture through the use of Pillars of Legendary Quality Experience, Departmental Legendary Quality Experiences on a daily basis and through the use of Guiding Principles and D.E.L.I.G.H.T as part of ensuring Guest Satisfaction and the achievement of our Mission Statement.
  • Ensure hotel achieves budgeted annual revenues in the Group segment
  • Utilize Salesforce for activity logging and account management and HMS for hotel inventory / reservations
  • Works with the Regional Sales Office in managing accounts on behalf of the Brand
  • Works with internal departments to ensure clear communication for all VIPs and any special requests are met for in-house guests
  • Entertain clients, as appropriate
  • Actively solicits new business
  • Attend weekly meetings as required
  • Travel for sales calls on clients as needed and based upon the Sales travel calendar
  • Attend MO sponsored roadshows
  • Ensure post trip reports and expense reports are submitted in a timely manner to Accounting

As Group Sales Manager, we expect from you: 

  • Must be a self-motivator and motivator of others.
  • Must work in a safe, prudent and organized manner.
  • Must have mathematical skills, computer software aptitude and some hotel operation knowledge.
  • Knowledge of specific hospitality industry applications is desirable (Salesforce and HMS preferred)
  • Must be able to relate to all levels of management
  • Must have the ability to handle multiple tasks at one time
  • Must have superior organizational skills
  • Must have a minimum of 4 years experience in as a Sales Manager in a luxury hotel union environment.

Salary and Benefits:

  •  Salary $95,000 TO $100,000 yearly
