About the job

Based at the Mandarin Oriental, Costa Navarino within the Purchasing Department in Pylos, Messenia, Greece, the Junior Buyer sources the best products according to Mandarin Oriental guidelines and manages stock levels. The Junior Buyer also develops strong relationships with suppliers, negotiates with them when it comes to contract terms and researches upcoming brands and trends. The Junior Buyer reports to the Assistant Purchasing Manager.

As Junior Buyer, you will be responsible for the following duties:

• Process and input invoice records into the accounting system promptly and accurately.

• Verify that standard purchase specifications are followed on a continuing basis.

• Analyze, compare, and evaluate price proposals and supplier offers to determine the best bids.

• Report price changes from vendors and research potential new vendors.

• Collate purchase orders and purchase requisitions. Assist in storing and organizing materials in warehouses, supply rooms, storage facilities, or other physical locations where materials are kept.

• Carry out any other respective request as directed by the Assistant Purchasing Manager.

As Junior Buyer, we expect from you: 

• Valid EU Passport or Hellenic Residence Permit.

• Experience in a similar role.

• Strong computer literacy to include Microsoft Office, Word, Excel.

• Experience with SAP software will be considered as a plus.

• Fluency in Greek. Good level in English.
