About the job

Based Mandarin Oriental Jakarta, the Junior Security Supervisor is responsible for overseeing daily security operations to ensure the safety and security of all guests, colleagues, and hotel property. The Junior Security Supervisor reports to the Director of Security/ Assistant Security Manager.

As Junior Security Supervisor, you will be responsible for the following duties:

1. Department Supervision & Leadership

• Provide guidance and support to all colleagues in the Security Department to ensure tasks are carried out effectively.
• Maintain good working relationships with other departments to ensure smooth operational coordination.
• Serve as a role model for all colleagues by adhering to hotel policies and procedures.

2. Safety & Security Operations  

• Maintain a safe and comfortable environment for guests and colleagues.
• Assist in implementing the department’s Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and Policies & Procedures (P&P).
• Protect hotel assets through proactive security measures and routine monitoring (Gate Pass).
• Monitor and supervise potential violations within the hotel premises.
• Work closely with the outsourced security company to ensure compliance with Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group policies and procedures.

3. Emergency Preparedness & Compliance

• Assist in providing training to all employees and the security team regarding FLHSS (Fire, Life, Health, Safety, Security) and applicable safety regulations.
• Train colleagues on emergency preparedness procedures.
• Ensure compliance with safety policies and procedures in accordance with Jakarta Fire Brigade regulations.
• Follow up on incident, loss, or accident reports.
• Assist in maintaining FLHSS & E audit scores and Risk Assessment (GRAB) results in line with departmental and hotel targets.

​4. Reporting & Administration

• Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly reports in the GSIICS application system in a timely manner.
• Maintain required documentation such as the Daily, Weekly & Monthly  Checklist (FLHSS&E) in GSIICS and operational reports.

5. External Liaison

• Maintain good working relationships with law enforcement agencies and other external security-related stakeholders

6. Human Resources Responsibilities

• Uphold a high ethical standard for the Security team to emulate.
• Create a working environment that fosters motivation, participation, and colleague initiative.
• Apply positive coaching techniques when addressing disciplinary issues.

As Junior Security Supervisor, we expect from you:

Educational Background

• Minimum high school graduate; a Bachelor’s or Diploma in Security Management is preferred.
• Professional certifications in security and safety (e.g., Fire Safety, Risk Assessment, Basic/Advanced Security Training) are an advantage.

Experience

• Minimum of 3 years of supervisory or Leader’s experience, preferably in the hospitality industry or luxury hotels
• Proven experience in managing multi-disciplinary security teams, including outsourced personnel.

Skills & Competencies

• Strong leadership and team management abilities.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• High integrity, professionalism, and the ability to maintain confidentiality.
• Ability to deliver effective training and coaching for security personnel.

Technical Proficiency

• Proficient in computer use and Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
• Familiar with CCTV surveillance systems, access control systems, key management systems, fire protection equipment, as well as other security and safety devices.
