About the job

As Learning & Development Manager, you'll inspire a culture of continuous growth, driving learning, performance and talent development across the hotel. Partnering with leaders at every level, you'll create impactful development experiences that empower colleagues, strengthen leadership capability and support exceptional guest experiences.

As Learning & Development Manager, you will responsible for the following duties

  • Champion a culture of learning, growth and excellence by bringing Mandarin Oriental's vision, values and service philosophy to life across the hotel.
  • Design and deliver an engaging learning and development pre / post-opening strategy that supports business priorities, colleague growth and exceptional guest experiences.
  • Partner with senior leaders to identify talent, build succession pipelines and support performance and career development across all levels.
  • Create innovative learning experiences, from onboarding and leadership development to service excellence, digital learning and functional skills training.
  • Facilitate inspiring workshops and development programmes for colleagues, managers and senior leadership teams.
  • Lead the annual learning needs analysis and translate insights into impactful development plans that drive performance.
  • Coach leaders and colleagues to support career growth, talent development and high-performing teams.
  • Build, develop and inspire a network of Departmental Trainers, fostering a strong learning culture throughout the hotel
  • Monitor learning effectiveness through data, feedback and performance outcomes, providing regular insights and recommendations to hotel leadership.
  • Manage the learning calendar, training resources and learning systems, ensuring a seamless and engaging colleague experience.
  • Partner with external providers and corporate teams to bring best-in-class development opportunities to the hotel.
  • Support flagship talent programmes, leadership retreats, team-building initiatives and global learning projects across the Mandarin Oriental portfolio.
  • Contribute to quality assurance, sustainability and health & safety initiatives by embedding learning that supports operational excellence and compliance.
  • Act as a trusted People & Culture partner, supporting wider colleague engagement, wellbeing and organisational development initiatives.
 

As Learning & Development Manager, we expect from you: 

 
 
 
  • Proven track record in Learning and Development management within luxury hospitality or high-end service environments.
  • Strong facilitation and presentation skills for training delivery.
  • Proficient in digital learning and HR systems.
  • Strong background in talent management and organisational development.
  • Experience managing multi-cultural teams and navigating diverse labour markets.
  • Demonstrated success in employee engagement, retention strategies, and culture transformation.
  • Solid understanding of hospitality operations and how Learning & Development impacts guest experience.
  • Proven ability to lead learning & development programs tailored to luxury service standards.
