About the job

Based at the Mandarin Oriental Sanya / within the Recreation Department in Sanya, the Lifeguard is responsible for the overall spa and recreation staff tidiness and appearance and the safety of client and members. but not limited to。 The Lifeguard reports to the Recreation & Pool Supervisor

As Lifeguard, you will be responsible for the following duties:

• To create a safe environment for guests.
• Monitor and maintain the chemical levels in all the pools.
• To clean the pools outside of operating hours.
• Keep work area clean and neat at all times.
• Must follow all Standards and Procedures as taught by legendary trainers, Recreation & Pool Supervisor or Assistant Fitness & Wellness Manager.
• To ensure that a high standard of service is maintained throughout the Spa.
• Act as the professional rescuer in the event of an emergency.     
• Report to engineering department and follow up on all maintenance requests.
• To maintain inventory of supplies for the operations of the pool.
• To assist on delivering F&B menu to guests at the pool area.
• To attend daily line-ups, weekly and monthly departmental meetings.

• Will be expected to assist various demonstrations and events.

• To maintain a high standard of appearance and personal hygiene as lay down by the Assistant Fitness &Wellness Manager.
• Must attend all training courses as deemed necessary, and must adhere to training as set down by the Assistant Fitness &Wellness Manager.
• Must have the ability to courteously interact and answer all spa and recreation related questions with guests.

• Assist in all areas of the spa as and when necessary.

• To be adaptable and accountable for all actions.
•  Will be responsible for the maintaining the cleanliness of the entire pool areas.

• These should be kept in a neat, tidy and sanitary manner in accordance with the Standards and Procedure and Health and Safety Standards.

• Will have attention to detail.

• To assist in the smooth flow of the guests journey throughout the day.

• Will be expected to ensure towel counters are stocked with clean linen at all times and remove soiled linen.

• To receive training to ensure that all-relevant legislation pertaining to the Health and Safety at work.
• Law and Health and Hygiene standards are implemented and monitored within the Spa and Recreation.

• Courtesy to guests and other members of staff at all times.

• Will perform as a professional, with a friendly business attitude and conduct all duties and responsibilities as required by the position, or assigned by the Assistant. F&W Manager.

• Will greet each guest with a smile and acknowledge guest even in passing.
• Will proactively offer assistance to all spa guests when necessary.
• Will pass along pertinent information at the end of shift.

As Lifeguard, we expect from you: 

• Must have a yearly CPR for the Professional Rescuer Certification
• Must have current Lifeguard Certification
