Job Description - Lifeguard:
- Adhere to all resort rules and regulations for the safe and effective operations of the resort facilities.
- Give hourly reports through to Security Control Room on the static posts via Walkie Talkie
- Be familiar with all the Lifeguard SOP relating to daily Lifeguard operations and adhere to them, as well as post descriptions.
- Patrol and monitor the resorts aquatic facilities and areas ensuring both the safety of resort guest, visitors and employees.
- Proactively take measures to prevent potential aquatic rescue and injury situations.
- Render assistance to resort guests, employees who are in aquatic difficulty.
- Render first aid assistance in line with training to resort guests and employees.
- Check the lifeguard and water safety equipment every day while on shift in the area of operation.
- Immediately inform to Supervisor if there is any unserviceable or defected rescue and water safety equipment.
- Participate in weekly physical training sessions as well as theoretical training sessions and meet the set standards all the time.
- Additional duties when deemed necessary may be assigned.
- Assist where possible resort staff in the performance of basic aquatic related maintenance, retrieval of resort property provided that this assistance does not impact negatively on the lifeguard’s primary responsibilities.
- Perform any guest related requests provided that the request does not impact negatively on the lifeguard’s primary responsibility in a professional manner, as per resort policy and procedures
- Report any hazards to the Security Control Room.
- Attend scheduled meetings and training sessions whenever required.
- Assure professional attitude towards guest and colleges at all times.
- Ensure all activities are carried out honestly, ethically and within the parameters of the Maldivian Law.
- Ensure to inform Security Control Room when leaving a post during duty hours. [Before going wash room or when going into the water]
- Be extra vigilant in areas which are busy where there is a lot of guest or activities in the water.
- Any incident must immediately be reported to Security Control Room and Supervisor.
- Carrying of personal mobiles phones is strictly prohibited during duty hours. [exception can be made in an emergency situation by Management] Any unidentified motorized aquatic vehicle coming in close proximity of the lagoon must be immediately reported to the Security Control Room and Lifeguard Supervisor
