About the job
Based at the Mandarin Oriental Corporate Office within the Commercial Strategy Team in Hong-Kong, the Commercial Data Manager is responsible for maximise revenue growth and shape the future of business across the global hotel portfolio, creating value for key hotel owners and partners. The Commercial Data Manager plays a crucial role in optimizing our commercial performance by leveraging data-driven insights and analytics. The Commercial Data Manager will collaborate with various teams, including sales, marketing, revenue management, and finance, to ensure the effective use of data in decision-making processes.
As a Commercial Data Manager, you will be responsible for:
Utilize advanced analytics tools to analyze commercial data and extract actionable insights.
Generate regular reports and dashboards to communicate key performance indicators and trends to stakeholders.
Work closely with different stakeholders within the Commercial team to create opportunities for performance improvement based on data analysis.
Develop and implement data-driven strategies to maximize revenue and profitability.
Monitor and evaluate sales performance metrics, identifying areas of improvement and opportunities for growth.
Collect, clean, and analyze sales data, market data, and guest behavior data to identify trends, patterns, and insights.
Translate data insights into actionable recommendations for the sales team.
Monitor and analyze the strategies and performance of competitors in the hospitality industry. Identify areas where our sales team can gain a competitive advantage.
Evaluate the performance of sales channels, campaigns, and promotions, providing recommendations for improvement and optimization.
Present complex data in a clear and visually compelling manner through charts, graphs, and dashboards.
Stay up-to-date with industry trends, competitor analysis, and market dynamics to inform sales strategies.
Work closely with the sales and marketing teams to provide data-driven recommendations and support the execution of sales campaigns.
Generate regular and ad-hoc reports and dashboards to communicate key performance indicators (KPIs) and insights to the executive team.
Perform in-depth analysis on special projects and initiatives as requested by senior management.
Collaborate with the Sales and Marketing teams to align data analysis with business objectives and strategies.
Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and security, and implement data quality improvement processes as needed.
Identify and propose process improvements to optimize sales data collection, analysis, and reporting.
As a Commercial Data Manager, we expect from you:
University degree in a related field and minimum 3-5 years relevant work experience.
Strong computer knowledge, experience in using Excel and Power BI is preferred.
Outstanding analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent command of spoken and written English. Chinese is desirable.
Self-driven, attention to detail and excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
