About the job

Based at the Mandarin Oriental, Boston within the Banquets Department in Boston, Massachusetts, the Banquet Server is responsible to achieve service and product delivery standards with a high degree of client care and service throughout the banqueting event experience.

The Banquet Server reports to the Assistant Food & Beverage Manager.

As Banquet Server, you will be responsible for the following duties:

• Provide excellent service at all times to our guests.
• Set up tables as per brand standard.
• Professionally deliver correct orders to guest tables.
• Efficiently clear tables between courses throughout the event.
• Anticipate guest needs and respond to all requests with urgency.
• Communicate with the kitchen for any guests’ special request and dietary requirements.
• Prepare the pantry and assigned side station with sufficient Mise en Place.
• Maintain back of the house areas, ensuring they are neat, tidy, clean and safe.
• Continuously monitor assigned section for maximum guest satisfaction.
• Other duties as assigned by management.

As Banquet Server, we expect from you:

• A minimum of two years’ experience in a similar position in a luxury hotel property
• Reading, writing, and oral proficiency in the English language
• Willing to work a flexible on-call schedule to include weekends and holidays
• Able to work in a fast-paced, dynamic operation
• Ability to walk and stand for the majority of shift. Ability to regularly lift, push, and pull up to 40 pounds

Compensation

The hourly rate of pay for this position is $17.45 plus gratuity.
