About the job

Based at the Mandarin Oriental, Shenzhen within the Food & Beverage Division in Shenzhen, the OPUS 388 Kitchen Demi Chef is responsible for all aspects of the assigned kitchen section and to be proactive, creative and results driven. The OPUS 388 Kitchen Demi Chef reports to the OPUS 388 Kitchen Chef de Partie.

As OPUS 388 Kitchen Demi Chef, you will be responsible for the following duties:

• Report all challenges and failures of machinery, tools or equipment and follow up.
• Assist the Chef De Partie with the production and quality control of all foods prepared in his/her respective area section
• Minimize wastage and spoilage by monitoring business forecasts and work practices
• Inspect all refrigerated and non-refrigerated food storage areas to ensure appropriate stock rotation. Ensure any out-of-stock items are being immediately reported

As OPUS 388 Kitchen Demi Chef, we expect from you: 

• Minimum 1 year’s relevant working experience in similar capacity
• Good knowledge of hygiene, preparation techniques and cooking procedure
• A great team player with good communication skills
