About the job

Based at the Mandarin Oriental, Tokyo / within the PBX Department in Tokyo, the PBX Operator is responsible for the overall guest satisfaction by greeting guests with a warm and sincere voice on the phone or the chat communications, recognizing and anticipating individual guest needs while ensuring a complete follow up. 

The PBX Operator reports to PBX Manager.

As PBX Operator, you will be responsible for the following duties:

  • Answer the hotel’s main telephone number/helloMO chat and connect guests and colleagues to the correct department
  • Greet all callers with a warm and sincere greeting
  • Anticipate and recognize individual guest needs
  • Be well-informed concerning all events that take place in the hotel
  • Pass on requests in a timely and accurate manner to appropriate colleagues
  • Deliver personalized wake-up calls within 5 minutes of the agreed-upon time in a clear and pleasant voice
  • Answer all telephone calls within 4 rings
  • Reply helloMO chat within 30 seconds
  • Ask for permission from all callers before transferring or connecting a call
  • Must be able to remain calm and communicate clearly with Guests,  Management, and colleagues in the event of an emergency
  • Operate PBX as the main command centre in the event of an emergency        

As PBX Operator, we expect from you: 

  • Able to communicate in written and spoken Japanese and English
  • Excellent overall communication skills
  • Able to handle multiple tasks
  • The ability to work well in a team environment
  • Able to stand for extended periods of time
  • Must be professional and possess excellent presentation, communication, organization, and effective time management skills
  • Flexible schedules and hours, including overnight shift, willingness to work on weekends & holidays is required.
  • Positive attitude and ability to engage with guests

PBXの部門において、国内外からの様々なお客様からのお電話お受けしてお客さまにご案内を行ったり、適切な部署へ電話をおつなぎするオペレーター業務で、ホテル全体を把握し、迅速にかつ温かくご対応頂くスキルが求められます。さらにご宿泊のお客様とのチャットのコミュニケーションもご対応頂きます。ホテル内の部署に加えて関わりのある企業や海外のお客様の文化、システム関連の知識、日本語・英語での丁寧な言葉遣いなどの様々なスキルを身に着けて頂くことができます。ホテル全体を把握し、迅速にかつお一人おひとりのお客様に合わせた温かいご対応が求められるため、幅広い知識と迅速な判断力も身に着けて頂くことができます。

日本語・英語ともにビジネスレベルでのwriting/speakingレベルをお持ちであることに加え、土日祝日や夜勤を含むシフト勤務にご対応頂ける方がご応募の対象となります。英語力を活かしたい方、第二新卒の方も歓迎いたします。
