The Role 

The Procurement Supervisor will be responsible for managing procurement activities to support the successful pre-opening and ongoing operations of Mandarin Oriental Makati. This role ensures that all goods, materials, and services are sourced in line with the hotel’s luxury standards, budgetary requirements, and sustainability practices. The Procurement Supervisor will play a key role in building vendor relationships, establishing procurement systems, and supporting the hotel’s operational readiness. 

  

Key Responsibilities 

  • Supervise daily procurement operations, ensuring timely and cost-effective procurement of goods and services. 

  • Source, evaluate, and negotiate with suppliers to secure quality products at competitive prices. 

  • Collaborate with department heads to identify purchasing needs and specifications. 

  • Ensure compliance with Mandarin Oriental standards, local regulations, and sustainability initiatives. 

  • Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with receiving and storeroom teams to maintain accurate records. 

  • Support Finance in cost control, budget monitoring, and reporting. 

  • Implement procurement policies, procedures, and systems tailored to a pre-opening environment. 

  • Assist in sourcing pre-opening supplies, operating equipment (OE), and furniture, fixtures & equipment (FF&E). 

  • Maintain accurate documentation and audit-ready records for all purchasing activities. 

  • Train and guide junior procurement colleagues to ensure efficiency and adherence to standards. 

  

Qualifications & Experience Profile 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or related field. 

  • 3–5 years of purchasing experience, preferably in luxury hospitality or pre-opening hotel environments. 

  • Strong knowledge of procurement processes, vendor management, and inventory control. 

  • Proven negotiation skills with the ability to balance cost efficiency and quality. 

  • Experience with hotel operating equipment and FF&E procurement is an advantage. 

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; fluency in English required, Filipino language proficiency preferred. 

  • Proficiency in procurement software and MS Office applications. 

  • High attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced pre-opening setting.
