About the job
Based at Mandarin Oriental Punta Negra, Mallorca, the Resident Curandero will report directly to the Director of Spa & Wellness and act as the lead medical and holistic authority within the wellness offering. This role is central to the creation and delivery of integrative, personalized, and culturally rooted healing experiences for our guests.
You will be responsible for overseeing integrative medical consultations, designing individualized wellness protocols, and delivering hands-on treatments that combine evidence-based medicine with traditional and alternative healing practices. As a trusted guide and healer, you will embody the spirit of curanderismo while upholding the highest standards of clinical excellence, safety, and luxury service.
As Resident Curandero, you will be responsible for the following duties:
Conduct comprehensive medical and holistic assessments to understand guests’ physical, emotional, and energetic wellbeing.
Design and deliver personalized integrative treatment plans using alternative therapies such as acupuncture, naturopathy, osteopathy, kinesiology, herbal medicine, and mind-body practices.
Provide one-on-one healing sessions, consultations, and therapeutic treatments aligned with Mandarin Oriental wellness philosophies.
Collaborate closely with the Spa & Wellness team to integrate medical insights into spa journeys, retreats, and long-stay wellness programs.
Support the development of signature wellness concepts, rituals, and transformational programs inspired by local traditions and global healing practices.
Ensure all treatments and medical practices comply with local regulations, licensing requirements, and international health and safety standards.
Educate and inspire guests through wellness talks, workshops, and consultations focused on preventive care, lifestyle medicine, and holistic health.
Offer expert guidance to spa therapists and wellness practitioners, fostering interdisciplinary collaboration and knowledge-sharing.
Maintain accurate, confidential medical and wellness records in line with data protection and clinical governance standards.
Contribute to the continuous evolution of the wellness offering by staying informed on emerging integrative medicine trends and research.
Uphold the Mandarin Oriental luxury service ethos, ensuring every guest interaction is intuitive, respectful, and deeply personalized.
Promote a culture of care, authenticity, and conscious healing within the wellness team.
As Resident Curandero, we expect from you:
Experience and education
Medical degree with valid license to practice medicine in Spain.
Formal training and certification in integrative or alternative medicine disciplines such as acupuncture, naturopathy, osteopathy, kinesiology or similar healing modalities.
Proven experience practicing as an integrative doctor, holistic physician, or medical wellness practitioner, ideally within a luxury wellness, retreat, or hospitality environment.
Strong understanding of preventive medicine, lifestyle medicine, and mind-body health approaches.
Demonstrated ability to merge scientific medical knowledge with traditional and alternative healing practices.
Technical Skills
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, in Spanish and English; additional languages are an advantage.
Ability to build trust, rapport, and long-term therapeutic relationships with an international, high-profile clientele.
Comfort working within a multidisciplinary wellness team.
Strong organizational and documentation skills, with experience managing confidential medical records.
Knowledge of health, safety, hygiene, and clinical governance standards applicable to medical and wellness settings.
