Mandarin Oriental Savoy, Zurich is located in the heart of the Old Town, in the main business center, close to the city's leisure attractions and just a short walk from the shores of Lake Zurich. The Mandarin Oriental Savoy, Zurich has 80 guest rooms and suites and three dining venues, including an all-day dining restaurant, a specialty restaurant and a lobby lounge. The hotel is ideal for meetings and events with its newly renovated event facilities, including a grand historic ballroom.

 

About the job

Based at the Mandarin Oriental Savoy, Zurich within the Food & Beverage Department in Zurich, the Restaurant Hostess is responsible for assisting the Restaurant team to always provide impeccable service to guests. The Restaurant Hostess reports to the Assistant Restaurant Manager and Restaurant Manager.

 

As Restaurant Hostess, you will be responsible for the following tasks:

  • Welcoming the guests to the restaurant
  • Helping with the wardrobe
  • Seating the guests according to the plan
  • Presentation of the menus
  • Handling calls and queries
  • Managing table reservations and walk-ins
  • Complying with hygiene regulations and cleanliness within the framework of the HACCP guidelines

 

As Restaurant Hostess, we expect from you:

  • Warm welcoming personality with strong communication skills, both verbal and written - guests will approach you with both complaints and positive feedback, so you will always be open and approachable
  • Good organisational skills with the ability to handle reservations
  • Good understanding of luxury service and willingness to go the extra mile
  • Expressiveness, open-mindedness and team spirit
  • Good IT skills, knowledge of the Infrasys cash register system and the SevenRooms booking system would be advantageous
  • Ability to work under pressure and flexibility - your position includes weekend and holiday shifts
  • Excellent knowledge of German and English. Further foreign language skills are an advantage
  • Successful applicants must have the right to work in Switzerland
