About the job

Based at the Mandarin Oriental Savoy, Zurich within the Food & Beverage Department in Zurich, the Restaurant Manager is responsible for leading the Restaurant team to always provide impeccable service to guests. The Restaurant Manager reports to the Assistant Director of Food & Beverage.

As Restaurant Manager you are responsible for the following duties: 

  • Supporting and representing the Director of Food & Beverage for the service area in the absence and being the contact person for the Restaurant Team
  • Creation and control of rosters and holiday planning
  • Guaranteeing smooth and guest-oriented work processes in close cooperation with all the departments of the house
  • Promoting the development of employees, conducting feedbacks and appraisal interviews
  • Coordination of the daily restaurant work to ensure a smooth service process according to our quality standards
  • Personal care and advice for our guests
  • Ensuring guests satisfaction with the highest quality standards and professional handling of guest complaints
  • Innovating and strategizing the guest service and sales opportunities
  • Project and administrative task management

As Restaurant Manager we expect from you: 

  • Completed vocational training in the upscale hotel or catering industry, ideally 2-3 years of professional experience in a similar position
  • Leadership, organizational skills and the ability to lead a team of employees from different cultures with sensitivity and discipline
  • Expressiveness, open-mindedness and team spirit
  • Written and verbal communication skills - guests will come to you with both complaints and positive feedback
  • High quality awareness and a sense for trends
  • Good computer skills and knowledge of various cash register systems
  • Excellent manners and well-groomed appearance, as well as a positive charisma
  • Resilience and flexibility - your position will include night, weekend and holiday shifts
  • Very good knowledge of German and English, additional foreign language skills are an advantage
