About the job

Based at Mandarin Oriental The Landmark, Hong Kong within Security Department in Hong Kong, the Senior Security Officer is responsible for maintaining and upholding corporate standards at all times. The Senior Security Officer reports to the Security Manager.

As Senior Security Officer, you will be responsible for the following duties:

  • Offer practical guidance and coaching to all junior colleagues, ensuring that Hotel and Departmental standards are strictly and consistently maintained.
  • Project an impeccable professional, confident, efficient and reassuring image to all Hotel guests, patrons, visitors and colleagues alike.
  • Ensures high levels of guard tour patrol compliance amongst all security officers.
  • Immediate response to security and safety occurrences (e.g. incidents and accidents).
  • Participate in all emergency drills (planned and unplanned) as directed by the Security Manager.
  • Ensure that all Officers and new recruits are familiar with all emergency systems (e.g. Fire alarm systems) and equipment (Fire extinguishers etc).
  • Routine Hotel patrols must include fire safety: e.g. removal of obstructions from fire staircases and fire exits; fire doors closed etc.
  • Maintain frequent supervision of Hotel critical areas through CCTV surveillance and patrolling. Deploy manpower according to risk and activity levels.
  • Immediate response to abnormalities, suspicious situations and disorder.
  • Maintain daily operation of routine duties, tasks and functions, such as Access controls (e.g. registration and permit system)
  • Frequent foot patrolling of both Hotels areas ensuring security colleagues always maintain crime awareness.
  • Report all criminal allegations and incidents immediately to the Security Manager.
  • Sweep critical Hotel areas and assigned VIP guest floor prior to VIP event / visit in order to identify irregularities; suspicious situations etc.
  • Immediately report any irregularities; signs of disorder etc to Security Manager.
  • Ensure the unimpeded and safe movement of VIP guests into, through and out of the Hotel.
  • Carry out access controls at established Hotel check points (Colleague Entrance and the Loading Bay).
  • Carry out stringent vetting of visitors; contractors and suppliers, scrutinising all forms of identification.
  • Registration of all visitors, contractors and suppliers. Issue visitor passes according to colour coded areas.
  • Covert / overt surveillance of critical areas (e.g. Monitor unattended baggage at the Hotel reception and lobby etc).
  • Handle the hotel Lost & Found and respond to concerned enquiry in the Hotel.

As Senior Security Officer, we expect from you:

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience of the same capacity in international 5-star luxury hotels.
  • Well organized and structured
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, open mind of different culture, friendly, approachable and sociable
  • Motivational with enthusiastic character with excellent listening skills
  • Good command in English, knowledge in other languages is an advantage.
