Mandarin Oriental, Tokyo is looking for a Server to join our Signature team.

About the job

Based at the Mandarin Oriental, Tokyo / within the Signature, the Server is responsible for providing exceptional guest experiences. The Server reports to the Restaurant Supervisor / Assistant Manager / Manager.

This job is limited for 1 month in Oct when we have the exclusive collaboration event with Alinea, the globally acclaimed three-Michelin-starred restaurant.

As Server, you will be responsible for the following duties:

  • Maintains a high standard of personal hygiene and grooming at all times
  • Wears designated uniform which are well pressed and in a good state of repair
  • To ensure that the Fire Life Health Safety and Security company standards and HACCP Standards are maintained and carried out.
  • To be fully informed and aware about all information concerning Food and Beverage outlets and hotel facilities of Mandarin Oriental, Tokyo
  • Maintains a good knowledge of all hotel facilities and is able to answer guest questions in a quick, polite and helpful manner
  • Handles guest complaints or problems promptly, ensuring that any resolved / unresolved incidents are reported to the manager in a timely manner
  • Demonstrates security conscious behaviours in respect of guests, colleagues and hotel property / welfare and reports suspicious circumstances to the manager
  • Attends meetings and training sessions that may be beneficial personally or to the operation.
  • Support company's philosophy and company culture through the use of Pillars and Legendary Quality Experiences on a daily basis to ensure Guest Satisfaction and the achievement of our Mission Statement.
  • Assist Guest courteously and efficiently.
  • Communicate with Kitchen for any guests’ special request and dietary requirements.
  • To prepare the working station and side station assigned with sufficient Mise en Place.
  • To maintain the back of the house neat, tidy, clean and safe.
  • Continuously monitor his/her section for maximum guest’s satisfaction.
  • To deliver the correct order to the guest.
  • To carry out daily, weekly and monthly inventory.
  • To welcome every guest in the appropriate manner.
  • To wish each and every guest a warm farewell and thank them for coming.
  • Assist and support all mandarin Oriental Tokyo colleagues as required.

As Server, we expect from you

  • Available fulltime for 4 to 5 days per week in Oct 2025
  • Ready for work with the eligibility to work in Japan (already stays in Japan and holds the visa)
