About the job

Based at the Mandarin Oriental, Shenzhen within the Food & Beverage Division in Shenzhen, the Wok 1 Supervisor is responsible for assisting in running the assigned kitchen efficiently and effectively. He/she is to ensure that the agreed quality, hygiene and other standards are kept or surpassed at all times. The Wok 1 Supervisor reports to the Chinese Chef.

As Wok 1 Supervisor, you will be responsible for the following duties:

• Create and check standard recipes and the preparations process of it to ensure portion control, uniformity of taste and quality
• Liaise and communicate with other Sous Chefs and Section leaders on any inter departmental requirements
• Assists in creating and developing new dishes and recipes by keeping up with the latest market trends. Propose and initiate new ideas, services and products
• Handle customer comments and complaints and take swift corrective action after consultation with Cuisine Chef

As Wok 1 Supervisor, we expect from you: 

• Minimum 3 years’ relevant working experience in similar capacity
• Proven Leadership skills with a growth mindset  
• A great team player with good communication skills
