The Role

The Bar Back is responsible for supporting bar and service operations to ensure guest satisfaction throughout the dining experience. By maintaining stock levels, assisting in beverage service, and ensuring operational readiness, this role enables efficient and courteous delivery of food and beverage service, contributing to the hotel’s reputation for excellence.

 

Key Responsibilities

Bar Operations Support

  • Maintain stock levels of beverages, glassware, and supplies at all times
  • Prepare and replenish mise en place to support smooth service
  • Assist in serving and preparing beverages according to standards
  • Obtain bar supplies from the storeroom efficiently
  • Ensure bar and service areas are clean, organized, and ready

Service Coordination

  • Support bartenders and service team to ensure efficient service flow
  • Communicate clearly with team members on operational needs
  • Report any guest-related concerns promptly
  • Attend pre-service briefings

Station & Cleanliness

  • Keep assigned stations stocked, tidy, and service-ready
  • Assist in clearing and resetting tables as required
  • Maintain cleanliness of bar, equipment, and back-of-house areas

Guest Experience

  • Provide courteous assistance to guests when needed
  • Support the team in delivering a seamless dining experience
  • Maintain a professional and approachable demeanor

Service Excellence & Grooming

  • Maintain proper grooming, hygiene, and uniform standards
  • Demonstrate reliability, professionalism, and attention to detail

Pre-Opening Responsibilities

  • Participate in training, SOP briefings, and mock operations
  • Assist in setting up bar stations and storage areas
  • Support pre-opening activities as required
  •  

Qualifications & Experience

  • Diploma in Hospitality or related field
  • Previous bar or restaurant experience is an advantage
  • Basic knowledge of bar operations
  • Good teamwork and communication skills
  • Physically fit to handle stock and equipment
  • Able to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Positive attitude and willingness to learn
  • Professional grooming and presentation
