About the job
Based at the Mandarin Oriental Savoy, Zurich within the Food & Beverage Department, the Bar Supervisor is responsible for leading the bar team to always provide impeccable service to guests. The Bar Supervisor reports to the Assistant Restaurant Manager and Restaurant Manager.
As Bar Supervisor, you will be responsible for the following tasks:
Leading your own team and ensuring smooth and guest-oriented workflows in the restaurant in close cooperation with all departments of the house
Development of bar concepts and creation of drink menus
Excellent product and sales knowledge
Ensuring quality standards and guest satisfaction
Set up of the bar, inventories, taking and preparing orders
Guaranteeing smooth and guest-oriented work processes in close cooperation with all the departments of the house
Accurate posting of all the sales in the cash register system and implementation of a correct cash register settlement
Promoting the development of employees, conducting feedback and appraisal interviews
Complying with hygiene regulations and cleanliness within the framework of the HACCP guidelines
As Bar Supervisor, we expect from you:
Completed vocational training in the upscale hotel or catering industry, best 2-3 years of professional experience in a similar position. Ideally, through training as a bartender.
Leadership, organizational skills and the ability to lead a team of employees from different cultures with sensitivity and discipline
Expressiveness, open-mindedness and team spirit
Written and verbal communication skills - guests will come to you with both complaints and positive feedback
High quality awareness and a sense for trends
Good computer skills and knowledge of various cash register systems
Excellent manners and well-groomed appearance, as well as a positive charisma
Flexibility and ability to work under pressure - your position will include weekend and holiday shifts
Very good knowledge of German and English. Further foreign language skills are an advantage
