About the job

Based Mandarin Oriental, Munich, the Chef de Cuisine is responsible for our culinary departments. The Chef de Cuisine reports to the Hotelmanager.

As Chef de Cuisine, you will responsible for the following duties:

  • Responsibility for our main kitchen and pastry department, including In-Room Dining, Events, Breakfast, and Lounge
  • Culinary responsibility for the conception, implementation, and continuous development of the gastronomic offering – from menu planning to presentation – in line with brand standards, seasonality, and current food trends
  • Ensuring and continuously optimizing product and service quality, taking into account guest feedback, mystery checks, LQE standards, and MO Pillars
  • Coordinating and supervising the preparation, presentation, and service of food and beverages in compliance with the highest quality and hygiene standards (HACCP, local regulations)
  • Ensuring operational readiness of all technical and infrastructural facilities within the kitchen area
  • Monitoring and analyzing global and local market trends to further develop culinary and gastronomic offerings in an innovative, competitive, and brand-compliant manner

As Chef de Cuisine, we expect from you:

  • At least 2 years of experience in a Sous Chef or Head Chef role within luxury hospitality or upscale gastronomy
  • Enthusiasm and passion for culinary arts, combined with a strong ambition to drive initiatives forward
  • Solid experience in cost control and efficient resource planning within the culinary departmen
  • Confident leadership of multicultural teams and a high level of intercultural competence
  • Passion for team leadership and development, including coaching, motivation, and individualized staff support
  • Professional proficiency in German and English, both written and spoken
  • Strong leadership and decision-making skills, combined with excellent planning, organizational, and analytical abilities
