About the job
Based at the San Clemente Palace within the Food & Beverage Department in Venice, the Chef de Rang is responsible for managing a designated section of the restaurant, ensuring exceptional and personalized service to guests while maintaining the highest standards of luxury hospitality. The Chef de Rang reports to the Restaurant Manager.
As Chef de Rang, you will responsible for the following duties:
Supervise and manage a station or section within the restaurant during service
Welcome guests warmly and guide them through the dining experience with professionalism and care
Take orders, serve food and beverages, and ensure guest satisfaction at every stage
Coordinate with Commis de Rang and other team members to ensure smooth and timely service
Monitor cleanliness, presentation, and readiness of tables and service areas
Handle guest feedback or special requests promptly and courteously
Maintain deep knowledge of the menu, ingredients, and wine list to provide accurate recommendations
Support training and mentoring of junior staff within the section.
As Chef de Rang, we expect from you:
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a genuine passion for guest service
Solid understanding of food, wine, and service etiquette
Leadership qualities and the ability to motivate a small team
High level of attention to detail and organizational skills
Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays
Fluent English and Italian; additional languages are a plus
Proven experience in upscale or fine dining service, preferably in a luxury hotel or resort setting
