The Spa at Mandarin Oriental, Milan is the city's most comprehensive, offering a holistic approach to rejuvenation and relaxation in tranquil, meditative surroundings that feature indoor swimming pool and six private treatment rooms. In addition, the hotel has two versatile function rooms.
About the job
Based at the Mandarin Oriental, Milan within the Room Service Department in Milan, the Chef de Rang is responsible to delight and satisfy our guests. We are dedicated to making a difference every day and continually improve to ensure we are the best. The Chef de Rang reports to the Room Service Manager.
As Chef de Rang, you will responsible for the following duties:
Professional in-room serving of food and drinks
Professional advice and customer care for our guests
Excellent product and sales knowledge
Deliver in room dining order to the guests in a timely manner, within the quoted time
Check accuracy of order before delivering – be sure it is complete.
Assisting and preparing all VIP amenities
Preparing all orders and setting up tables or tray according to the order in timely manner complying with our quality and hygiene standards
Picking up the table after the use by the guests or as per guest’s request
Preparing the required Mise en Place and keeping the Room Service area clean
Booking all transactions in the cash register system and carrying out correct cash accounting
Making sure that all product served are accounted for on the final bill before presenting it to the guest
Complying with hygiene regulations and cleanliness within the framework of the HACCP guidelines
As Chef de Rang, we expect from you:
The ideal candidate is a self-motivated person with great communication skills, fluent in Italian and English.
He or she is a person willing to offer professional and impeccable service, ensuring that the guest's experience at the Mandarin Oriental is exceptional.
Ideally 2-3 years of professional experience in a comparable position.
Communicative skills - guests will contact you with complaints as well as positive feedback.
High level of commitment as well as a structured, results-oriented and independent way of working.
