About the job
Based at the Mandarin Oriental Jumeira, Dubai within the People & Culture Department, the Colleague Dining Supervisor ensures the smooth running of the Colleague Restaurant for Mandarin Oriental Jumeira, Dubai. Maintains and responds efficiently to any queries in a timely manner. Makes sure that the colleague restaurant is well maintained and coordinates with the Catering Service Provider Manager for any queries
As Colleague Dining Supervisor, you will be responsible for the following duties:
Conducts site induction for staff of Catering Service Provider assigned in the Hotel
Ensures departmental policies, procedures and performance standards are being implemented and maintained throughout their area
Reviews departmental policies, procedures and performance standards to ensure these are up to date, correct and propose changes as appropriate to ensure high levels of customer service
Ensures any service delivery defects are resolved and identifies any trends and shares observations and suggestions with the concerned team
Raises service requests for maintenance required in the Colleague Dining Restaurant
Represents the Human Resources and attend catering service provider meeting and audits
Maintains and submits meeting records and audit reports as per schedule
Coordinates with the Catering Service Provider Manager and Human Resources Management for any concerns
Openly communicates appropriate and useful information through various channels to include meetings and briefings
Reviews satisfaction results for cafeteria and identify any trends and share observations and suggestions with the Catering Service Provider and Human Resources Management
Ensures Colleague Dining Restaurant meets set financial targets through tracking expenditures and as appropriate taking action to affect either
Coordinates any inventory/stock take activities required such as Colleague Dining Restaurant items
Updates any regular trackers, excel sheets or reports
Ensures sufficient stock remains on hand at all times and reduces stock loss/wastage
Raises purchase requests and subsequently follow up on approvals, delivery and payment
Reviews reports, invoices and/or delivery notes to ensure proper billing and documentation, prior to final review of HR Operations Manager/Director of HR
Participates in daily operations alongside Catering Service Provider’s colleagues, setting a positive example.
Fosters a harmonious atmosphere among Catering Service Provider’s colleagues, MODUB colleagues and brings team members together through team activities.
Coordinates with the Catering Service Provider Manager in motivating their colleagues through the effective implementation of recognition and rewards program/activities.
Coordinates with the Catering Service Provider Manager any coaching and disciplinary requirements and ensure fairness and consistency in order to motivate and improve performance
Conducts Colleague Dining Restaurant spot checks and audits
Prepares records, reports etc. as required
Processes Colleague Dining Restaurant related documentations
Manages Colleague Dining Restaurant related files to ensure all information is up-to-date.
Collates, reviews, analyzes and ensures accuracy of any Colleague Dining Restaurant related billing, records, reports, etc.
Ensure all Colleague Dining Restaurant related checklists i.e. opening and closing checklists are being consistently completed, any required follow-up action is initiated, and forms/records are being filed appropriately.
Performs any other related duties as assigned by HR Operations Manager/Director of HR
As Colleague Dining Supervisor, we expect from you:
High school diploma or equivalent
With valid Essential Food Safety Training (EFST) certification
With valid HACCP and FCDA certification
At least 3 years operational experience in F&B, hospitality industry in supervisory role
At least 1 year work experience in a related (Catering operation) position in a managerial role
Very good command of English language, both verbal and written.
Proficient with MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint software programs.
Good health condition
Knowledge of operating industrial cafeteria machine and equipment
Familiar with other languages such as Hindi and Urdu.
Familiar with industry software systems.
Knowledge of inventory or in stock taking process
