About the job
Based at the San Clemente Palace within the Food & Beverage Department in Venice, the Commis de Rang is responsible for delivering high-level, attentive, and elegant service in the restaurant, ensuring a seamless dining experience for all guests in line with Mandarin Oriental Standards. The Commis de Rang reports to the Chef de Rang.
As Commis de Rang, you will responsible for the following duties:
Assist the Chef de Rang in delivering flawless table service in line with the resort’s luxury standards
Prepare and maintain mise en place for the service area (e.g. cutlery, linens, condiments)
Welcome guests and ensure their comfort throughout the dining experience
Serve food and beverages promptly and professionally
Clear and reset tables efficiently between courses and after guests depart
Maintain cleanliness and presentation standards of the dining area at all times
Communicate guest needs or special requests to senior staff or the kitchen
As Commis de Rang we expect from you:
A passion for hospitality and a service-oriented mindset
A basic understanding of fine dining service techniques
Attention to detail and a polished personal presentation
Team spirit and adaptability in a dynamic, high-end environment
Previous experience in luxury hotels or upscale restaurants is an advantage
Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays
Fluent English and Italian; additional languages are a plus
