About the job 

Based at the Mandarin Oriental, Singapore within the Finance Department, the Cost Control Executive is responsible for the analysis of operating costs, maintains the beverage store in good order, supervises the daily operation of receiving and storeroom, ensures related standard operating procedures are followed and activities are conducted smoothly and ensures the beverage inventory is effectively maintained at an optimum level.

As Cost Control Executive, you will be responsible for the following duties:  

  • Performs random checks on F&B operations to ensure correct revenue is captured.

  • Controls casual labour cost through monitoring the daily casual labour requisition without compromising on service excellence.

  • Review existing internal controls in relevant areas to ensure compliance of the Hotel Finance Policy, and to proactively address any control shortcomings to eliminate any potential losses.

  • Performs month-end closing stock count in the beverage stores and reconcile counted figures in inventory system.

  • Conducts system month-end closing and provide necessary inventory reports to the Finance Manager.

  • Assists in performing audit checks on physical inventory count in all areas of the Hotel.

  • Administer the Point of Sales System and ensure all new menu items/price changes/discount keys are created in timely and accurate manner to prevent any loss of revenue.

  • Review Entertainment/Officers Check account and advice users on the policy guidelines in confirmation with audit requirement.

  • Administer the Spa Soft System and ensure all new retail products/price changes/discount keys are created in timely and accurate manner; and update the retail product system inventory when additional goods are purchased.

  • Report any operational irregularities to the Director of Cost Management.

  • To carry out any other duties that may be reasonably requested by the Director of Cost Management.

 Supporting Responsibilities in the absence of Receiving & Store Officer:

  • Receive, classify, store, take care of, distribute, request and take inventory of General and beverage/cigarette store.

  • Maintenance of perpetual inventories.

  • Prepare requisitions for stock replacement.

  • Develop methods and procedures for handling, storing, rotating and issuing stock.

  • Check materials received against invoices and notes breakage and discrepancies in quantity or quality.

  • Recommend modifications of stock levels based on previous consumption and present orders.

  • Make recommendations and suggestions on problems relating to space, delivery, issue and stock control.

  • Inventory check minimum twice a month.

  • Determine the best method of storage to meet HACCP guidelines.

  • To ensure the beverage store and inventory records are maintained in accordance with the policy of the hotel

As Cost Control Executive, we expect from you:  

  • Minimum 1-2 years of experience working in a luxury hotel in similar capacity
