About the Job
Based in the Corporate Finance team in Hong Kong, the Cost Controller is responsible for reviewing, analysing, and optimising financial performance across Commercial & Brand functions. The role ensures cost efficiency and maximises profitability across Corporate initiatives and hotel‑level activities. The position reports to the Group Financial Controller.
As Cost Controller, you will be responsible for the following duties:
Review ROI of Brand Campaigns
Conduct detailed financial analyses of brand and marketing campaigns, including cost tracking, revenue attribution, and ROI measurement across channels.
Partner with Sales & Marketing to define budgets, KPIs, and success metrics for new initiatives.
Perform post‑campaign evaluations to assess performance versus objectives and identify variances.
Review hotel marketing expenditures to ensure efficient allocation between Corporate and hotel‑level activities.
Recommend actions to optimise campaign spend and improve profitability.
Review Commercial Performance
Collaborate with Sales & Marketing to assess cost‑effectiveness across channels.
Re‑examine datasets to provide meaningful commercial analysis to both Finance and Commercial teams.
Monitor and Control Corporate Spending
Oversee Sales & Marketing expenditures including advertising, promotions, events, agency fees, and travel.
Ensure spend compliance with budgets, internal policies, and governance standards.
Analyse spending patterns to identify inefficiencies and savings opportunities.
Support budget planning, forecasting, and re‑forecasting cycles.
Financial Reporting and Analysis
Prepare regular dashboards and financial reports summarising spend, ROI, and KPIs.
Deliver ad‑hoc analysis, financial modelling, and scenario planning to support decision‑making.
Business Partnering
Serve as a finance business partner to Sales & Marketing leadership.
Strengthen financial transparency, discipline, and accountability across initiatives.
Process Improvement and Controls
Enhance cost control processes, reporting tools, and approval workflows.
Implement process improvements that drive efficiency and strengthen financial governance.
As Cost Controller, we expect from you:
Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or related discipline.
Strong analytical skills with proficiency in Excel and financial modelling.
Ability to translate financial insights into actionable recommendations.
Excellent communication and stakeholder‑management skills.
Experience in budgeting, forecasting, and cost control.
Prior hospitality or luxury retail experience an advantage (not mandatory).
