About the job
The Director of Information Technology ( IT) is responsible for the overall planning, implementation, security, and management of the hotel’s technology infrastructure. This includes maintaining all systems and networks (PMS, POS, internet, security systems), ensuring data security, managing vendors, and supporting internal users. The role ensures that all hotel technology systems function efficiently to support operational excellence and guest satisfaction.
As Director of Information Technology (IT), you will be responsible for the following duties:
Develop and implement the hotel’s IT strategy in alignment with brand standards and business goals.
Oversee daily IT operations including system backups, patch management, and performance monitoring.
Ensure optimal functioning of all key systems including PMS, POS, accounting, HR, telephone, guest internet, IPTV, and building management systems.
Maintain and manage all hardware, software, and network infrastructure including servers, switches, Wi-Fi, and security systems.
Support smooth integration between various systems (e.g., PMS with CRM or POS).
Coordinate with vendors and corporate IT on upgrades, migrations, and system rollouts
Implement security measures to protect hotel systems and sensitive data (e.g., firewalls, antivirus, access controls).
Monitor for vulnerabilities, conduct risk assessments, and manage disaster recovery plans.
Ensure compliance with brand, legal, and data privacy regulations.
Lead the IT helpdesk function to support all departments with timely troubleshooting and technical assistance.
Conduct system user training for staff on software, devices, and IT policies.
Foster a culture of digital efficiency and cybersecurity awareness across the property.
Manage IT-related vendors, contracts, and service-level agreements.
Oversee the IT budget, forecast expenses, and ensure cost-effectiveness in procurement and maintenance.
Evaluate and recommend new technologies to improve hotel operations.
Lead or support property-level technology projects such as system implementations, renovations, or new openings.
Coordinate with corporate IT and third parties for system deployment and infrastructure upgrades.
As Director of Information Technology (IT), we expect from you:
Strong technical knowledge in network administration, server systems (Windows/Linux), and IT infrastructure.
Excellent leadership, communication, and project management skills.
Strong problem-solving abilities and a proactive attitude.
Experience with IT security, cloud technologies, and system integration.
Familiarity with hotel systems (Opera, MICROS, PABX, network CCTV, Wi-Fi controllers, IPTV, etc.).
Minimum 5–8 years of IT experience in hospitality, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
