About the job
Based at the Mandarin Oriental, Singapore, the Finance Manager is responsible for the determination of optimum control objectives and for the installation and maintenance of appropriate internal control systems over income, expenditure, assets and liabilities within the hotel. The position reports directly to the Director of Finance on control and compliance, and to the Assistant Director of Finance on accounting procedures and operations.
As Finance Manager, you will be responsible for the following duties:
Assist in all financial reports, budgets, forecasts and other information required by MOHG and identifying variances and making recommendations for improvements as appropriate.
Assist in all legal, treasury, tax documentation and any governmental requirement for permits and licences.
Assist to design and implement stronger operational reporting to provide more accurate and reliable information for managing the operations.
Provide relevant information to operational departments to help them achieve business target set.
Ensure internal controls are complied with by operational departments in respect of revenue capture.
Monitor cost effectiveness of operational expenditure.
Ensure adequate controls are installed and maintained for the protection of the hotel’s assets against loss or misappropriation.
Prepare Return on Investment analysis for Special Capital Expenditure items.
Report any operational irregularities to the Director of Finance.
To carry out any other duties that may be reasonably requested by the Director of Finance.
As Finance Manager, we expect from you: (brief overview of requirements)
Degree in related discipline
At least 8 years of finance and management, preferably with an international luxury hotel chain company.
Strong analytical skills, budgeting and forecasting, and strong communication and leadership skills.
