Based at the Mandarin Oriental, Desaru Coast within the Front Office Department, the Duty Manager is responsible for providing supportive functional assistance to all departments and interacting with guests and members of the community. The Duty Manager reports to the Front Office Manager.

 

As Duty Manager, you will be responsible for the following duties:

  • Carry out inspection of front of the house and back of the house areas regularly, including lobby cleanness, lighting, background music, main entrance and driveway.
  • Maintain effective guest relations, build rapport and offer personalized service and assistance.
  • Closely monitors and effectively plans vacations effectively and ensures proper service levels are provided in relation to occupancy levels.
  • Maintain a high level of product and service knowledge in order to explain or make recommendations for guests.
  • Ensure that guest complaints are properly logged and acted upon by trying to avoid any guest leaving the hotel dissatisfied. Solicit assistance from Management if needed.
  • Motivates and stimulates colleagues to achieve results through support and encouragement.

 

As Duty Manager, we expect from you: 

  • Minimum 3 year’s relevant working experience in similar capacity
  • Fluent in both written and spoken English
  • Excellent communication and organization skills
  • Strong desire to provide excellent guest service
  • Open-minded and positive leadership with result-oriented managerial skills.
