About the job

Based at the Athens Offices and the resort of Mandarin Oriental, Costa Navarino within the Sales & Marketing Department, the Group & Events Sales Executive is responsible for the handling of all Groups and Events inquiries of the resort with their main responsibilities evolve around inquiries’ qualification, proposal creation and submission according to standards, booking system management and conversion. The Group & Events Sales Executive supports all sales efforts by providing market research, analysis, and support to the Commercial team to enhance knowledge around segments related to Groups and Events. The Group & Events Sales Executive reports to the Director of Sales.

As Group & Events Sales Executive, you will be responsible for the following duties: 

  • Assist the Commercial Director, Director of Sales and Sales Managers in managing and maximizing revenues from existing and potential Groups and Events by handling inquiries that come from various channels.
  • Is in charge of qualifying, handling, organizing, negotiating & planning of upcoming groups and events, including but not limited to Wedding groups, Incentives, Exclusive Buyouts, Private Dining contracted events, Golf groups.
  • Assist the management in identifying opportunities to maximise revenue opportunities by upselling and offering enhancements to create outstanding group experiences and events.
  • Assist with the marketing presentations and promotional tools, templates and flyers related to Groups and Events Sales actions for local and international markets, including but not limited to Weddings, Incentives & more.
  • Proactively handle new Group & Events Sales enquiries, distributes, if needed, to the right Salesperson based on Market and sells the resort’s facilities.
  • Offer our guests/clients the highest level of service and attention, exceeding their expectations, where possible, thus building customer and brand loyalty.
  • Ensure that Delphi activities related to conversion are kept up to date daily including all necessary information and data.
  • Conduct show rounds to travel trade industry partners, VIP customers interested in familiarizing themselves with the property and support the Director of Sales, Sales Manager and Director of Commercial Strategy in show rounds, Familiarisation trips and other customer engagement activities.
  • Manage the Groups & Events system, support the Sales Team in the creation of Groups & Events Contracts, update Billing and oversee the Group’s post departure processes including but not limited to payments’ closures and feedback collection.
  • Manage and coordinate all meetings and events in the hotel, from enquiry stage through to the end of the event.
  • Conduct efficient conversion of inquiries into confirmed bookings.
  • Ensure a clear and effective line of communication is maintained with the on-property hotel teams.

As Group & Events Sales Executive, we expect from you: 

  • EU Passport or valid Residence Permit is mandatory in order to work in Greece.
  • 2 years' experience working in a similar position within the hospitality industry.
  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in Hospitality, Events Management, or similar.
  • Advanced knowledge of Delphi Fdc. Salesforce.
  • Strong computer literacy including but not limited to Microsoft Office, Word, PowerPoint, Excel.  Digital imaging knowledge is preferable.
  • Strong numerical skills.
  • Skills in Inventory management systems and Groups/Events management systems will be considered a plus.
  • Fluency in English & Greek.
  • Ability to share time between our Athens office (November – March usually) and the resort in Costa Navarino – Pylos area (April – October).
