About the job

Based at the Mandarin Oriental, Milan within the RB&E Department in Milan, the Host / Hostess is responsible for delivering a warm, professional, and personalized guest welcome, ensuring efficient reservation management and a seamless dining experience in line with Mandarin Oriental standards. The Host / Hostess reports to the Hostess Team Leader.

As Host / Hostess, you will be responsible for the following duties:

• To welcome and seat guests in accordance with Mandarin Oriental standards, ensuring a positive first impression
• To present menus and provide initial guidance, ensuring guests feel comfortable and well attended
• To manage reservations across all channels, ensuring accuracy and optimization of seating capacity
• To maintain and update guest profiles, preferences, and special requests
• To handle guest enquiries, requests, and feedback in a professional and timely manner
• To manage guest complaints with care, escalating when necessary
• To coordinate guest flow and communicate effectively with service and kitchen teams
• To liaise with other departments to ensure seamless service delivery
• To support the set-up and organization of reception and service stations
• To assist in daily operations and administrative tasks within the department
• To manage email correspondence and reservation systems efficiently
• To participate in daily briefings and team communication
• To ensure guest satisfaction throughout the dining experience
• To carry out any additional duties as required to support operations

• To demonstrate strong interpersonal and guest service skills
