About the job
Based Mandarin Oriental Jakarta, the Hostess All Day Dining Cinnamon is responsible for welcoming the guest, but not limited to attentive and personalized service, handling restaurant reservation with all details and presenting menu knowledge with confidence, accurately taking and processing orders, and table management based on reservation. The Hostess All Day Dining Cinnamon reports to the Restaurant Supervisor/ Assistant Restaurant Manager / Restaurant Manage.
As Hostess All Day Dining Cinnamon, you will be responsible for the following duties:
1. Operational & Service Standard
- Able to greet, escort, seat and giving fond farewell to the guests in a friendly, professional, and courteous manner.
- Able to handle reservations during day-to-day operation, and festive seasons in friendly, professional and courteous manners.
- Able to manage table arrangement by the reservation.
- To collect and updating Guests’ database, Fans of MO
- To fully inform and aware about all information connecting to Food and Beverage outlets and Mandarin Oriental Jakarta/Group generally
2. Communication
- Professional guest interaction to greet guests, describe the dishes to the guest, answering any questions they may have about the food or beverages.
- Communicate all special requests, such as dietary restrictions, allergies, or specific preparation instructions to culinary team.
- Communicate daily food tag rotation with specific allergen of each menu item with culinary team.
- Effectively communicate any issues, complaints, or special guest feedback to the All-Day Dining Supervisor/Manager.
3. Financial and Administrative
- Prepare guest checks, verify billing information, and process payments accurately through the POS system. Handle cash, credit cards, and room charges efficiently and securely.
- Complete all assigned opening and closing duties, which may include front of the house and back of the house the restaurant, preparing for the day's service, and completing financial reports.
4. Additional Responsibilities
- Support Restaurant Supervisor by compiling and submitting the Daily Restaurant Report, which includes Total number of covers for each meal period (breakfast, lunch, dinner), Summary of daily reservations, including no-shows and walk-in, Breakfast forecast for the following day, based on hotel occupancy and expected guest flow.
As Hostess All Day Dining Cinnamon, we expect from you:
Educational Background
- Bachelor's degree in hospitality management, Hotel & Tourism Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Diploma in Hotel Management or Tourism (acceptable for entry-level positions if combined with relevant experience).
Experience
- Minimum of 2 years' experience in similar position, preferably within the hospitality industry.
Skills & Competencies
- Previous experience in a hotel or restaurant setting is preferred.
- Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong multi-tasking and organizational abilities.
- Proficiency with computer systems and POS software.
- A friendly, professional and ability to work under pressure
- A team-oriented attitude and a strong desire to provide exceptional guest service.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, and high-volume.
Technical Proficiency
- Computer literacy in Microsoft Office applications including Hotel System.
- Familiarity with HMS, Reservation system, EDC Machine & Alliants or similar platforms is an advantage.
