About the job
Based at the Mandarin Oriental, Shenzhen within the Executive Office Division in Shenzhen, the Hotel Manager functions as the strategic, hands-on leader of the Hotel Operations. Leading a team of 400 colleagues, the Hotel Manager will be instrumental in championing operational performance in a large and complex operation, whilst supporting overall strategic direction to grow the business.
As Hotel Manager, you will be responsible for the following duties:
Ability to successfully drive superior performance outcomes through an experienced leadership team
Ability to teach, coach, mentor and inspire a seasoned team
High level of energy and strong drive to succeed, transforming hotel strategy into concrete operational action steps to drive Mandarin Oriental’s transformation on property forward
Proactive influencer of future direction of business, ability to establish and communicate clear operational vision and strategy
Be able to react and adjust to changing business environment and lead the team in ensuring efficient financial management of the business
Being hands-on throughout the entire property and being a partner to the AVP/GM
Handles any issues delegated by AVP/GM and ensures timely rectifications of service standards when needed
Delegate authority and responsibility to subordinate Directors & Managers in a way that the entire Hotel operation runs smoothly.
As Hotel Manager, we expect from you:
Relevant working experience in similar capacity and ready to move to a large and complex operation
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Excellent planning and communication skills, sociable and open minded
Ability to build relationships, internal and external with colleagues, business partners and ownership
Fluency in Chinese language skills both written and spoken required
Experience in a large-scale Hotel Operation within Asia desirable, Mainland China preferred
