About the job 

Based at the Mandarin Oriental Punta Negra, Mallorca, as the IRD Waiter you will be responsible for performing all operational tasks and duties related to in-room dining service under the guidance of the respective managers and supervisors. Your primary objective is to ensure that all food and beverage orders are delivered efficiently, accurately, and in line with Mandarin Oriental service standards, while creating a memorable and satisfying experience for every guest. 

As IRD Waiter / Waitress (Night Shift), you will be responsible for the following duties:  

  • Have a good understanding of the in-room dining menu and beverage offerings and be able to clearly explain them to guests if required. 

  • Ensure all mise en place is prepared for each shift, including organizing trays, condiments, and in-room service equipment, to provide efficient and timely service. 

  • Accurately take and deliver guest orders following the hotel’s standards and in a courteous and professional manner. 

  • Carry out all tasks in a friendly, efficient, and attentive way, anticipating guest needs. 

  • Assist in processing payments, including MOHG Gift Cards and other non-cash methods. 

  • Ensure all dishes are delivered and presented in compliance with hotel standards and in perfect condition. 

  • Maintain all in-room dining equipment and utensils in good condition, performing daily care and cleaning duties. 

  • Assist in collecting and arranging stock required for in-room dining, including linen, beverages, and other items. 

  • Keep product knowledge up to date and inform management or kitchen colleagues of any special guest preferences or dietary restrictions. 

  • Support colleagues and other outlets if required, ensuring a smooth and seamless service experience. 

As IRD Waiter / Waitress (Night Shift), we expect you:  

Experience and education 

  • Previous experience in in-room dining, food & beverage service, or similar hospitality role is preferred. 

  • Experience in luxury hospitality is an advantage. 

Technical Skills 

  • Communicate clearly and effectively with colleagues and supervisors to ensure smooth operations and avoid misunderstandings. 

  • Be a committed team player, proactively supporting colleagues in operational tasks. 

  • Pay close attention to guest needs and body language to anticipate requirements and consistently provide exceptional service. 

  • Maintain a warm, friendly, and professional approach with every guest. 

  • Create memorable moments for guests during in-room dining service. 

  • Ensure guest satisfaction from order placement to delivery, adhering to Legendary Quality Experiences (LQEs) and service standards.
