INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY AND TELECOMMUNCIATION (IT&T) MANAGER

About the job


Based at the Mandarin Oriental, Kuala Lumpur / within the IT&T Department in Kuala Lumpur, the IT&T Manager provide supervision, direction and leadership in the IT&T in accordance with the objectives, IT&T team performance, technology transformation established by the company.

The hotel IT Manager is responsible for the day-to-day IT support within the hotel they are responsible for. This includes, but not limited to first line colleague support, second line guest support, IT hardware and software maintenance tasks, system event alert rectifications, routine task management, change management planning and vendor issue escalation.

The IT Manager is the main technical interface for the hotel on all Information Technology and Audio Visual support issues (proactive and reactive).

The IT Manager must be always available for escalation and general IT Support management.

As IT&T Manager, you will be responsible for the following duties:

  • Telephone configuration and management

  • Event Management

  • Delegation AV Management

  • Support IT Related for Meetings & Events

 IT Team Management

  • IT Rota Management

  • Daily IT Resourcing Assignment

Project Management

  • Major Project Management

Cyber Security and Compliance

  • System Vulnerability Management

  • End Point Protection Tools & Management

  • Alert Monitoring & Follow Up

  • Information Security Awareness Training

  • MOHG Information Security Policy Training

  • Implement Information Security Initiatives

  • IT Document Management for Audit

Network Management

  • Physical network troubleshooting

  • Fulfilling additional network requirements for events and special guests

As IT&T Manager, we expect from you:

  • A minimum of 3 years’ experience as an IT Manager within the hotel industry, or at least 5 years’ experience as an Assistant IT Manager in a hotel luxury industry.

  • Demonstrated strong technical knowledge of IT infrastructure, with hands-on expertise being essential, including but not limited to Windows Server environments, end-user computer management, wired and wireless network infrastructure.

  • Experience and familiarity with standard hotel IT applications and operational behaviour, including understanding how systems support daily hotel operations and guest-facing services.

  • Experience in disaster recovery, backup strategies, and business continuity planning.

  • Awareness or experience in cybersecurity best practices, data protection, and incident response.

  • A strong can-do attitude, with a hands-on and supportive approach to troubleshooting, demonstrating willingness to work closely with the team and stakeholders until issues are fully resolved.

  • Strong service-oriented mindset, with the ability to support hotel operations, front office, F&B, and back-of-house teams under time pressure.

  • Proven experience in IT audit management for internal hotel audit, including preparation, coordination, compliance, and maintenance of audit documentation. Exposure to PCI-DSS requirements will be an added advantage.

  • Experience in leading or supporting IT data management transformation initiatives, including leveraging AI technologies to improve data efficiency, insights, and decision-making, will be an added advantage.
