Based at the Mandarin Oriental, Barcelona within the Food & Beverage Department, the In-Room Dining Waiter is responsible for delivering exceptional in-room dining service to hotel guests, ensuring timely delivery, accuracy of orders and the highest standards of presentation and guest satisfaction. The position reports to the In-Room Dining Manager.
• Support the company’s philosophy and culture through the Pillars of Legendary Quality Experiences, Departmental Legendary Quality Experiences, Guiding Principles and D.E.L.I.G.H.T. to ensure guest satisfaction and achieve the hotel’s Mission Statement.
• Set up trays and tables according to the guest order accurately and in a timely manner, following departmental standards and side work procedures.
• Deliver in-room dining orders to guest rooms within the quoted delivery time while maintaining professional presentation and service etiquette.
• Ensure all orders are checked carefully before leaving the service area to guarantee completeness and accuracy.
• Provide courteous and efficient service to all guests and respond promptly to any request.
• Demonstrate strong knowledge of food, beverages, wines, liquors and cocktails in order to assist guests with recommendations and upselling opportunities.
• Present the bill correctly ensuring all items served are properly accounted for.
• Verify guest satisfaction before leaving the room and anticipate guest needs to provide a seamless luxury experience.
• Remove trays and tables from guest rooms when requested or when the service is completed.
• Maintain all equipment, hot boxes, trays and service items clean and in perfect condition.
• Ensure silverware and glassware are polished and spotless at all times.
• Perform all side work duties including table and tray setup, napkin folding, cleaning and polishing of glassware and silverware, maintaining supplies and general organization of the working area.
• Maintain the in-room dining service areas clean and organized at all times.
• Follow all posted opening and closing duties as well as departmental procedures.
• Attend daily pre-shift briefings, food and beverage training sessions and monthly department meetings.
• Carry required equipment when delivering or collecting trays such as master key, bottle opener and communication device.
• Ensure a welcoming atmosphere and always greet guests warmly, wishing them a pleasant day or evening before leaving the room.
• At the end of each shift, deliver all checks and reports to the designated location according to departmental procedures.
• Maintain par levels of supplies including beverages, waters, sodas and service sundries.
• Assist with small assigned projects and support colleagues when needed to ensure smooth operation.
• Always maintain a clean, organized and professional working environment.

• Strong interpersonal and guest service skills.
• Excellent knowledge of food and beverage service standards.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced luxury hospitality environment.

• Strong attention to guest needs while maintaining calm and courteous behaviour.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in luxury hotel Food & Beverage service.
• Good English communication skills.
