Position Title: Manager, COO Office

Reports To: Chief Operating Officer

Location: Hong Kong

Position Summary

The successful candidate will support the Chief Operating Officer in managing groupwide operations by supporting and coordinating all activities under the Operate pillar, improving operations governance, and creating a new operating framework for the Corporate functional leads to enable Mandarin Oriental to succeed a ultra luxury hospitality brand.

The successful candidate will be support AVP’s and GM’s as well as the Corporate functional teams in Rooms, F&B, Wellbeing, Quality & Opening Excellence and FLHSS to collaborate and partner in delivering Operational Excellence and alignment primarily across Finance, Commercial, People & Culture, Information Technology, as well as the CEO Office.

Major Responsibilities

• Act as Chief of Staff in supporting the COO to drive personal and function wide efficiency in all organisational and governance responsibilities in managing Groupwide Operations and all direct reports on a daily basis.

• Support, manage, coordinate and administer all updates, follow ups and action planning from EXCO, GLT, Governance and for all initiatives in the Operate pillar

• Through operate governance, partner with project leaders, and Transformation, to ensure strong project & change reporting and adoption, across the operate portfolio.

• Support COO in the preparation for key meetings including presentation preparation for Board, EXCO, GLT, AVP. OPX and Transformation comms

• Partner with People & Culture to coordinate interviewing, assessment and senior appointment announcements

• Monitor and provide regular updates on the team goal achievement

• Partner with project leaders, and transformation, to ensure strong project & change reporting and adoption, across the operate portfolio

• Support Corporate Director of Operations on action planning and initiatives to support hotels through the MPR, 1:1, owner feedback and budget process

Key Competencies

• At least 5 years of experience working in a fast-paced, operational focused environment

• A growth mindset and high learning agility

• Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate with colleagues of all levels

• Digital savvy, strong analytical skills, financially savvy and passion for Operations

• A proactive and flexible approach with the ability to adapt to changing conditions and priorities and to work in a collaborative team environment
