Mandarin Oriental, Bangkok is looking for a Night Manager to join our Front Office Department team.

About the job

Based at Mandarin Oriental, Bangkok within the Front Office Department, the Night Manager is The Night Manager who oversees the hotel's night operations, ensuring a high level of guest satisfaction and smooth functioning of all departments during the night shift. This role involves supervising staff, handling guest inquiries and issues, ensuring safety and security, and managing administrative tasks. The reports directly to the Front Office Manager.

Responsibilities:

  • To greet and farewell all VIPs guests and to check that accommodation and amenities are in order prior to arrival of VIPs guests.                                                      
  • To handle guest complaints diligently and professionally and to always give good feedback to the guests, whom they should see off on departure.
  • To follow up any special requests from guests as per instructions received from morning
  • meetings or elsewhere.
  • To observe and patrol all areas of the hotel and to seek out and put forward ideas as to where improvements may be made, in the logbook
  • To report in the Assistant Manager’s logbook incidents which required the Management
  • attention and follow up with decisions made when necessary.
  • To carry out regular inspections of guest rooms using the check list.
  • To perform duties such as key control, shops, and lost & found.
  • To enforce the hotel credit policy by monitoring requests for paid-outs, cash advance and
  • personal cheque.
  • To screen credit letters to in-house guests to decide whether it is justified to be sent and to be first in the line of contact when discussing matters of credit with any guests.

As Night Manager, we expect you to have:

  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in the hospitality industry
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively build and maintain guest relationships.
  • Strategic thinking and analytical skills to develop and implement successfully.
  • Familiarity with the Bangkok market and its key players in the hospitality sector is an advantage.
  • Adaptable and able to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
  • Fluency in English is required. Proficiency in Thai or other languages relevant to the market would be beneficial.
  • The ability to handle challenging tasks and situations effectively.
  • A results-oriented approach, with strong attention to detail, focus on timelines, and organizational skills.
  • A positive attitude and motivation to elevate the department to new heights.
