About the job
Based at the Mandarin Oriental, Boston within the Banquets Department in Boston, Massachusetts, the Banquet Houseperson is responsible for setting up designated function rooms according to group's requirements.
The Banquet Houseperson reports to the Assistant Food & Beverage Manager.
As Banquet Houseperson, you will be responsible for the following duties:
Efficiently set up and break down all functions and events.
Maintain cleanliness of function room areas and storage.
Service meeting rooms during event breaks.
Perform periodic deep cleaning of banquet areas as needed.
Ensure guest satisfaction for all events, including table set-up, temperature, lighting, and food and beverage displays.
Retrieve items from kitchen and storage areas and deliver to servers at their function space.
Clean, organize and re-stock all food pantries.
Keep control of the expired items and follow food safety procedures.
Check Banquet Event Orders (BEOs) for special requests and communicate with Purchasing department.
Other duties as assigned by management.
As Banquet Houseperson, we expect from you:
A minimum of two years’ experience in a similar position in a luxury hotel property
Reading, writing, and oral proficiency in the English language
Willing to work a flexible part-time schedule to include weekends and holidays
Able to work in a fast-paced, dynamic operation
Ability to walk and stand for the majority of shift
Ability to regularly lift, push, and pull up to 75 pounds
Compensation
The hourly rate of pay for this position is $32.95.
