About the job

The Restaurant Manager is responsible for the overall management and daily operations of the hotel's restaurant, ensuring exceptional guest experiences, high service standards, and efficient business performance. This role oversees the restaurant team, maintains quality and hygiene standards, manages financial performance, and ensures compliance with hotel policies and brand standards.

As Restaurant Manager you will be responsible for the following duties:

  • Fully able to maintain resort’s standards, policies and procedures
  • Entirely capable to prioritize, organize and delegate work assignments
  • Directs performance of all restaurants colleague & follows up with corrections immediately
  • Always motivates restaurant’s colleague as a cohesive unit
  • Continuously promotes positive work relationship with kitchen colleague & other departments
  • Ascertains colleague training needs & provides such training to the fullest and consistent levels
  • Thinks clearly, analyses & resolves challenges and obstacles, exercising good judgment
  • Consistently performs job functions with attention to detail, speed and accuracy
  • Works well under pressure keeping organized, planned and meeting timelines
  • Co-ordinates precisely his departmental needs with other departments & F & B office
  • Maintains cleanliness and hygiene level of the Desaru Peace Holdings Club’s uncompromising standards
  • Responsible to run the restaurant operation smoothly, in all aspects
  • Achieves 100% guest satisfaction & service perfection levels in his/her department
  • Reviews standards regularly & recommends high-class alternatives accordingly
  • Ensure all LQA/Forbes standards are consistently met, and colleagues are trained on the LQA/Forbes concept and associated standards.
  • Always strengthens physical visibility in the restaurant especially during prime hours
  • Interacts with guests & inquires that guest contentment levels are following well-established standards
  • Continuously focuses on quality standards throughout the restaurant without compromises
  • Supports and guides the Restaurant Reservations to establish a self-driven reservation centre with a prime focus on customer satisfaction
  • Energizes established operating standards and policies for the restaurant
  • Implements innovative & creative ideas to optimize revenue and profits in the department
  • Ensures stability of service standards and colleague training programs, focusing on up-selling skills to optimize revenue and profits
  • Plans quarterly promotions for the department based on guest needs & revenue generation
  • Positively reinforces the Values to the team on daily bases
  • Maintains physical visibility throughout the restaurant during peak hours
  • Plans, organizes and executes new menus, beverage lists, including colleague training and plating guide for the restaurant
  • Continuously conducts market surveys, in terms of restaurant performance against main competitors
  • Positively influences associates and makes impact on the issues, to improve communication and execution of tasks
  • Attends daily restaurants’ line-ups frequently, to improve communication and relationship between the line staff and Leadership
  • Provides guidance and direction to subordinates, including setting performance standards and monitoring performance.
  • Identifies the educational needs of others, develops formal educational or training programs or classes, and teaches or instructs others.
  • Ensures colleagues are treated fairly and equitably. Strives to improve colleague retention.
  • Ensures colleagues receive on-going training to understand guest expectations.
  • Solicits colleague feedback, utilizes an "open door" policy and reviews colleague satisfaction results to identify and address colleague problems or concerns.
  • Strives to improve service performance.
  • Ensures recognition is taking place across areas of responsibility

As Restaurant Manager, we expect from you: 

Educational Background

  • 2-year degree from an accredited university in Food Service Management, Hotel and Restaurant Management, Hospitality, Business Administration, or related major; 2 years’ experience in the food and beverage, culinary, or related professional area.

Skills

  • Good knowledge in the Food & Beverage products and high-end service levels
  • Have good English communication skills both in written and spoken
  • Computer literate
  • Organized with strong planning, good communication and interpersonal skills
