Mandarin Oriental Savoy, Zurich is located in the heart of the Old Town, in the main business center, close to the city's leisure attractions and just a short walk from the shores of Lake Zurich. The Mandarin Oriental Savoy, Zurich has 80 guest rooms and suites and three dining venues, including an all-day dining restaurant, a specialty restaurant and a lobby lounge. The hotel is ideal for meetings and events with its newly renovated event facilities, including a grand historic ballroom.

 

About the job

Based at the Mandarin Oriental Savoy, Zurich within the Food & Beverage Department in Zurich, the Rooftop Manager is responsible for leading the Rooftop Team and ensuring exceptional service for guests. The Rooftop Manager reports to the Assistant Director of Food & Beverage and Hotel Manager.

 

As Rooftop Manager, you will be responsible for the following tasks:

  • Seasonal management of our rooftop bar from April to September
  • Creating and monitoring staff schedules and vacation planning for your team
  • Ensuring smooth and guest-oriented operations on the rooftop floor
  • Providing personalized service and advice to guests to create an unforgettable experience
  • Leading, motivating, and developing the team, including feedback and evaluation meetings
  • Ensuring compliance with quality standards and professionally handling guest complaints
  • Developing innovative strategies to enhance guest service and revenue potential
  • Collaborating closely with other departments to optimize the overall guest experience
  • Taking on seasonal projects and administrative tasks

 

As Rooftop Manager, we expect from you:

  • Completed training in upscale hospitality or gastronomy, ideally with 2–3 years of experience in a similar role
  • Strong leadership skills and organizational talent, combined with the ability to manage a multicultural team
  • High flexibility and resilience – weekend and holiday shifts are part of the job
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, for interactions with guests and team members
  • Confidence and a well-groomed, professional appearance
  • Passion for exceptional service and a keen sense of trends in the hospitality industry
  • Strong IT skills and experience with POS systems
  • Excellent knowledge of German and English. Further foreign language skills are an advantage
  • Successful applicants must have the right to work in Switzerland
