About the job

The Sales Coordinator is responsible for providing sales and marketing executive support to the Sales & Marketing Office for Mandarin Oriental, Desaru Coast including but not limited to a full range of lead generation, lead conversion and client engagement activities.

Proactively assist to develop and service a sales platform of retail and wholesale agents so as to achieve budgeted Wholesale, Travel Agency, Third Party Website and Group segments for Mandarin Oriental, Desaru Coast.

As Sales Coordinator, you will be responsible for the following duties:

Sales Support & Administration

  • Assist Sales Managers with proposals, contracts, rate agreements, and event orders.
  • Prepare accurate quotations, banquet event orders (BEOs), and other client documentation.
  • Maintain and update client databases, sales reports, and tracking systems.
  • Handle phone calls, emails, and inquiries, ensuring prompt and professional responses.
  • Coordinate appointments, site inspections, and follow-ups with clients.

Client Relationship Management

  • Support the Sales Managers in building and maintaining strong client relationships.
  • Ensure all client requirements and requests are accurately communicated to relevant departments.
  • Assist in coordinating VIP client stays, corporate events, and group bookings.

Operational & Event Coordination

  • Liaise with banquet, front office, housekeeping, and F&B teams to ensure smooth event execution.
  • Assist in organizing sales promotions, trade shows, familiarization trips, and marketing activities.
  • Prepare welcome letters, amenities requests, and itineraries for group and corporate guests.

Reporting and Financial Support

  • Generate weekly and monthly sales reports as required.
  • Track performance against sales targets and assist in forecasting.
  • Ensure accuracy of contracts, invoices, and payment follow-up in coordination with Finance.

As Sales Coordinator, we expect from you: 

  • Minimum 3-year experience meeting and event sales related activity
  • Tourism, Business or Marketing undergraduate degree desirable
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Strong communication skills (written, verbal and presentation)
  • Strong Microsoft Office Skills
  • Strong Management Reporting Skills
  • Speaks English Fluently
