About the job
The Security Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day security operations of the hotel, ensuring the safety and security of guests, colleagues, visitors, and hotel assets. The role includes supervising security personnel, enforcing hotel policies and procedures, responding to incidents, and maintaining a safe and secure environment in line with company standards and local regulations.
As Security Supervisor you will be responsible for the following duties:
Operational Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of the Security team and ensure adequate manpower coverage for all shifts.
- Conduct regular patrols of the hotel premises, including guest areas, back-of-house areas, parking facilities, and perimeter.
- Monitor CCTV systems, fire alarm panels, access control systems, and other security equipment.
- Ensure all security procedures, emergency response plans, and standard operating procedures (SOPs) are implemented and followed.
- Respond promptly to emergencies, security incidents, accidents, and guest or employee concerns.
- Investigate incidents, accidents, thefts, and other security-related matters, and prepare detailed incident reports.
- Coordinate with local authorities, including police, fire department, and emergency services when required.
- Ensure lost and found procedures are properly managed and documented.
- Assist in crowd control and traffic management during hotel events and VIP visits.
People Management
- Supervise, coach, and motivate Security Officers to maintain high performance and professionalism.
- Prepare duty rosters, manage attendance, and monitor staff discipline and grooming standards.
- Conduct on-the-job training, briefings, and toolbox meetings for the Security team.
- Participate in the recruitment, orientation, and performance evaluation of Security staff.
Safety & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with hotel policies, health and safety regulations, and local security requirements.
- Conduct regular inspections of fire safety equipment, emergency exits, and safety systems.
- Support and participate in fire drills, emergency evacuation exercises, and crisis management activities.
- Report and follow up on any potential hazards or security risks identified within the hotel.
Working Conditions
- Rotating shift work, including weekends and public holidays.
- Requires prolonged standing, walking, and routine patrols around the hotel premises.
- May be required to respond to emergency situations outside of normal working hours.
Administrative Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate records of incidents, shift logs, occurrence reports, and key control registers.
- Prepare and submit daily, weekly, and monthly security reports to the Security Manager.
- Monitor and control the issuance and return of master keys, access cards, and security equipment.
- Assist in the development and continuous improvement of security policies and procedures.
As Security Supervisor, we expect from you:
- Diploma or Certificate in Security Management, Hospitality Management, Law Enforcement, or a related field is preferred.
- Minimum 3–5 years of security experience, with at least 1–2 years in a supervisory role, preferably within the hospitality industry.
- Experience in hotel security operations, emergency response, and incident investigation is an advantage.
- Knowledge of CCTV operations, access control systems, and fire and life safety procedures.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to remain calm and make sound decisions under pressure.
- Strong observation, problem-solving, and conflict resolution abilities.
- Good report writing and documentation skills.
- Proficient in basic computer applications (Microsoft Office, email, and security management systems).
- Flexible to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays.
