About the job

Based at the Mandarin Oriental, Hong Kong within Procurement (Share Service) Department in Hong Kong, the Senior Procurement Officer is responsible for improving operational efficiency of current procurement system and of the Procurement Department and ensuring all controls are in place in the procurement process and assist the Director of Procurement in Sustainability purchasing for both hotels as needed: Mandarin Oriental, Hong Kong and Mandarin Oriental The Landmark, Hong Kong under the shared services arrangement.  The Senior Procurement Officer reports to the Director of Procurement.

As Senior Procurement Officer, you will be responsible for the following duties:

  • Coordinate sourcing, tendering, evaluation, and supplier selection in line with company policies
  • Prepare, review, and administer procurement contracts, agreements, and related documentation
  • Lead price negotiations, contract renewals, and commercial discussions with suppliers
  • Manage end-to-end procurement activities for non-food daily operational items
  • Ensure procurement activities comply with internal controls, sustainability standards, and audit requirements
  • Monitor supplier performance, service levels, and contract compliance
  • Maintain accurate procurement records, contracts database, and reporting
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities and support budgeting and forecasting activities
  • Support audit processes and address any non-conformances related to procurement
  • Perform any reasonable tasks as assigned by the department head.

As Senior Procurement Officer, we expect from you:

  • A minimum of 3 year’s experience in high volume purchasing (hospitality or hotel food and beverage purchasing experience would be seen as an advantage)
  • High level of tertiary education or professional training (CIEH Level 3 in HACCP and Food Safety)
  • Systems / PC skills (knowledge of MBT procurement system an advantage)
  • Proven negotiation skills and strong analytical skills
  • Excellent communication skills both internally with operational departments and external suppliers
  • Proven RFI, RFP or RFQ for information analysis   
  • Independent and able to work under pressure
  • Good command of written & spoken English & Chinese.
