About the job
Based at the Mandarin Oriental, Barcelona, within the Kitchen Stewarding Department, the Steward is responsible for ensuring cleanliness, hygiene and order in all kitchen and service areas, supporting the culinary and F&B teams. The Steward reports to the Chief Steward.
As Steward, you will be responsible for:
Maintaining the cleanliness and sanitation of all kitchen utensils, equipment and work areas.
Operating dishwashing machines and ensuring proper handling of kitchen tools.
Collecting, washing, and properly storing china, glassware, cutlery and kitchen equipment.
Assisting chefs and service teams with the set-up and breakdown of kitchen and banquet areas.
Ensuring adherence to HACCP and hotel hygiene standards.
Supporting with deliveries, storage and organization of kitchen supplies.
Collaborating with the Stewarding and Culinary teams to ensure smooth kitchen operations.
As Steward, we expect from you:
Previous experience in a similar role, ideally in luxury hotels or fine dining restaurants.
Good knowledge of hygiene and safety standards (HACCP).
High sense of responsibility, reliability and teamwork.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment under pressure.
A positive, service-oriented attitude with flexibility to support different shifts.
Basic English and/or Spanish language skills.
