About the job

Based at the Mandarin Oriental, Hong Kong within Engineering Department in Hong Kong, the Technical Officer is responsible for assisting the Department in various renovations and engineering projects, maintain FLHSS record and ready for the annual audit, maintain updated drawing system.  The Technical Officer will be Service Orientated and flexible enough to support both the Guest and in-house Colleagues needs alike.  The Technical Officer reports to the Operations Engineer.

As Technical Officer, you will be responsible for the following duties:

• Carry out feasibility studies for minor upgrade and improvement works
• Prepare tendering documents for projects and licensing works including tenders, drawings and quotation enquiry information
• Update engineering drawings
• Liaise with the contractors and other departments
• Supervise Rooms Supporting Team and Mechanical Team’s activities
• Monitor project progress and quality of the works; Ensure projects are completed according to schedule and meet standards specified
• Assist engineers for checking and monitoring all works and procedures in according with Hotel Safe and Sound requirement and documentation of all records, reports and related documents
• Assist to conduct and organizes health, safety, operational and quality assurance trainings to hotel colleagues and contractors
• To monitor and assist on setting up The Hotel Planned Maintenance Programme
• Perform any other reasonable duties as required by the department head from time to time.

As Technical Officer, we expect from you:

• Minimum Higher Diploma holder in Building Services, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or other related disciplines
• Minimum 6 years' relevant work experience with 2 years in supervisory level
• Detail-oriented with strong problem solving skills
• Good command of spoken and written English and Cantonese
• Independent and able to work under pressure
