About the job

Based at Mandarin Oriental, Barcelona, within the Food & Beverage Department, the Waiter / Waitress & Host / Hostess plays a key role in delivering an outstanding dining experience, from welcoming guests to providing attentive table service. The position reports to the Restaurant Manager / Assistant Restaurant Manager.

As a Waiter / Waitress & Host / Hostess, you will be responsible for the following duties:

• Welcoming guests warmly and professionally, creating an excellent first and last impression
• Managing reservations, seating arrangements and guest flow
• Escorting guests to their tables and presenting menus
• Delivering high-quality, personalised food and beverage service in line with brand standards
• Taking orders accurately and providing detailed knowledge of menus, wine lists and promotions
• Anticipating guest needs and handling requests or concerns in a calm and courteous manner
• Coordinating closely with the kitchen, bar and service teams to ensure seamless operations
• Maintaining cleanliness, organisation and presentation of reception and service areas

As a Waiter / Waitress & Host / Hostess, we expect from you:

• Strong interpersonal, communication and organisational skills
• Excellent customer service orientation and attention to detail
• Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced luxury environment
• High level of responsibility, reliability and professionalism
• Ability to work cohesively as part of a multicultural team
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a luxury hotel or high-end restaurant
• Fluent English (additional languages are a strong advantage)
