About the job

Based at Mandarin Oriental, Barcelona within the Food & Beverage Department, the In-Room Dining Waiter is responsible for delivering exceptional in-room dining service, ensuring guest satisfaction through attention to detail, efficiency, and personalized service. The role reports to the In-Room Dining Supervisor.

As In-Room Dining Waiter, you will be responsible for:

• Supporting the company philosophy and culture through the Pillars of Legendary Quality Experiences (LQE), Departmental LQE, and D.E.L.I.G.H.T principles
• Setting up trays and tables accurately and according to standards in a timely manner
• Delivering in-room dining orders within the quoted time, ensuring quality and presentation
• Assisting guests courteously and efficiently, responding to all requests
• Demonstrating strong knowledge of food and beverage, including wines, liquors, and cocktails, to upsell and recommend products
• Checking order accuracy before delivery and ensuring all items are correctly billed
• Verifying guest satisfaction before leaving the room and anticipating guest needs
• Clearing tables and trays after use or upon guest request
• Handling guest interactions with professionalism, wishing guests a pleasant day/evening upon departure
• Coordinating with other departments to ensure seamless service
• Attending daily briefings, pre-meal meetings, and training sessions
• Following all opening, closing, and side work procedures
• Maintaining clear communication and complying with scheduling procedures
• Ensuring all checks are delivered and reported correctly at the end of the shift
• Creating a welcoming and positive atmosphere for guests

Side duties include:

• Setting up tables and trays
• Cleaning and polishing glassware and silverware
• Folding napkins
• Cleaning hot boxes and equipment
• Clearing trays and maintaining service areas
• Maintaining stock levels (sodas, water, amenities, etc.)
• Ensuring cleanliness of the working area at all times
• Carrying essential tools (master key, bottle opener, pager) during service
• Supporting small assigned projects

As In-Room Dining Waiter, we expect from you:

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Excellent guest service and attention to detail
• Ability to work efficiently under pressure
• Team-oriented mindset with a proactive attitude
• Passion for luxury hospitality and food & beverage
• Previous experience in a similar role (preferred)
• Fluency in English (additional languages are a plus)
