About the job

Based at the Mandarin Oriental Paris within the Front of the House Department in Paris, the First Concierge is responsible for supervising the concierge team that delivers five-star service to all guests and colleagues. The Head Concierge will lead the team in turning moments into memorable experiences for our guests. The Head Concierge will have excellent knowledge of the city of Paris

As First Concierge, you will be responsible for the following duties:

  • Train, lead, and supervise the concierge team in their daily activities.
  • Replenish documentation : brochures, maps, documents, etc.
  • Be familiar with all in-house guests and upcoming arrivals.
  • Stay informed of all daily hotel events.
  • Organize the delivery and collection of parcels for guests.
  • Provide a daily list of transportation reservations to the Front Office Manager and the Director of Rooms.
  • Offer a warm, sincere, and personalized welcome to all guests.
  • Initiate personalized conversations with guests to identify their preferences and record them in each guest’s profile history.
  • Act as a guide when guests request directions and assist them in reaching their destination within the hotel.
  • Provide clear directions to guests traveling outside the hotel.
  • Respond to all guest needs and requests.
  • Maintain a daily log (via GoConcierge) of all guest requests, reservations, and confirmations, and ensure follow-up on all reports.
  • Organize a monthly departmental meeting.
  • Participate in all operational meetings.

As First Concierge, we expect from you: 

  •  Previous experience in a similar role within an establishment of the same category
  • Courtesy, professionalism, attention to detail, and discretion
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a positive and dynamic attitude
  • Strong curiosity, with in-depth knowledge of Paris and its cultural scene
  • Impeccable personal presentation and grooming standards
  • Flexibility and availability to meet operational needs
  • Fluent in English (additional languages are an asset)
